Buy to Let UK

The same staggering rise in property values that has benefited homeowners has pushed first-time buyers out of the market and a record number of people are being forced into the limbo of rented accommodation for extended periods.

Awareness of the demand for buy to let accommodation quickly spread at the beginning of the decade and buy to let property has become an extraordinarily popular investment vehicle as evidenced in the sheer amount of media attention devoted to it.

Unfortunately in the frenzy to buy up multiple buy to let properties, many profit-hungry investors failed to notice that the market was becoming flooded and so when a supply of good tenants couldn’t be found and the properties remained empty for months on end, the owners couldn’t afford to pay back the mortgage repayments, leading many to financial ruin.

Scare stories aside, buy to let is still a popular investment strategy and though the quick returns and limitless wealth it once promised are a distant memory, it remains an attractive and effective investment opportunity for many.
